About

I am a self-taught photographer. Photography has been a passion of mine since about 1980 as a 14 year old. It all started out when I participated in a photography club in high school where we shot and developed black and white images. From that experience I purchased my very first camera, a Canon AE-1 and I worked that camera very hard for many years, it was the tool I used to learn and understand photography. After all of my camera equipment was stolen I took a leave of absence from photography for a few years. Prior to getting back to my passion I researched quite a bit on digital photography and looked for a camera that offered the features I was looking for and I settled on becoming a Nikonian :-) and I have not regretted it for one second.

I often refer to myself as a Landscape Photog but with being blessed to have been born and raised in Bermuda and now residing in the Bahamas, I think much of my work would be classified as Seascape Photogrphy and because of my love of sports I have always enjoyed the challenge of photographing fast moving sports like football (soccer to some), track and field and others.

As a photographer though I do not limit myself in what I shoot.

It took me quite sometime to get to the point of creating this web space for the display of my work and offering it for sale as I am my own worst critic and it is very difficult to view my work objectively.

On here you will see some of my work, which I hope you will enjoy and hopefully be inspired enough to make a purchase or two.

I am also available for commissioned work.

Thank you for taking the time to stop by and I welcome your feedback.

Sincerely,

Guilden M. Gilbert, Jr.
